The Pompadour

About
Edinburgh Reward: Complimentary glass of bubbly

The Pompadour, one of Scotland’s most magnificent dining rooms, is known for stunning views of Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street, and exquisite hand-painted wall panels. First opened in 1925, The Pompadour takes its name from the celebrated Madame de Pompadour, the “favourite mistress” of King Louis XV of France, who installed her in the magnificent Palace at Versailles. The Pompadour continues its tradition of excellence under the guidance of our award-winning Head Chef, Dan Ashmore.

Let yourself be surprised by the 8-course or 4-course tasting menus, featuring locally-sourced ingredients. Head Chef Dan Ashmore, who defines himself as a 'Lover of all things fresh and British!’, selects only the highest quality ingredients available each day and carefully prepares them in a way that allows the flavours to speak for themselves. To complement the dishes, our highly experienced sommelier has selected a collection of fine wines as well as unique signature cocktails.

The hospitable, professional, and knowledgeable team at The Pompadour welcomes guests and exceed to their needs, making the dining experience an enjoyable and unforgettable one.
